Dorothy Carole Johnson, 53, passed peacefully at home with her family on October 17, 2012 after a short battle with Lung Cancer. Born in Pawtucket, RI on Jan. 4th, 1959 she was the daughter to the late Carole (Johnson) and Samuel Johnson.
Dorothy lived in Seekonk, Ma for the past 18 years. She worked for Durham Bus Co in Cumberland, RI as a bus aide and as a private in home Caregiver for the past ten years. She graduated from West High in 1977 (now Shea High) and was a graduate of Arthur Angelo School of Cosmetology and Fisher College. Dorothy also worked at Liberty Mutual on the East Side Providence for 11 years. She was also an active volunteer at Blackstone Valley Chapter for Handicapped Children and was a Big Sister for many years.
She leaves behind her loving sister Jacqueline Johnson Munson of Cumberland, RI and her attentive loving brother-in-law, George D Munson of Rehoboth. She will be missed by her Brother, Samuel Johnson of Melborn, Fl and, the late brother, Johnathan Johnson. She also leaves behind her long time partner, Chuck Swanson of Dennisport, Ma., nephews: Jacob Munson, Cory Munson, Taylor Munson, Antony Ciccolello and Colton Munson and niece, Bonnie Munson Santos, grand nephew, Alexander Santos and grand nieces, Isabella Santos and Brooke-Lynn Munson.
She will be greatly missed by her close friend Deborah Pepin of Seekonk, Ma.
A memorial service is planned and the date and time is to be determined.
