Garland L. Cox "Gar" of Granite Falls, Washington, passed away into eternal life at South County Hospital on November 28, 2011. He was the husband of the late Eldean M. Cox and loving father to Clinton H. Cox of Ocala, Florida.
Garland was the admired and respected Grandfather of Clinton G. Cox of Wakefield, RI, Melissa E. Cox of Cranston, Robert F. Cox of Bradenton, FL, Pamela J. Vanner of Cranston the late Lori Cox and William Cox. He will be missed by numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Garland was a God fearing, honest man who loved the lord and lived his life according to the Bible. He was born in Edgar, Nebraska and joined the Navy before WWII. He served with distinction and rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, the youngest to achieve this rank. He was discharged in 1945 after six years of service to our Country. After graduating from Palmer Chiropractic School in Davenport, IA. he studied at Logan Chiropractic School in St. Louis, MO and practiced in Everett, Washington. Garlan later became a Machinist Supervisor at Black Clawson.
Garland was a gifted artist, wood carver and fisherman. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Garland the Great will be missed.
