Leland E. Masters
November 20, 1930 - February 28, 2013

Leland E. “Lee” Masters, 82, of 18 Franca Drive, Bristol, RI went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice E. (Webster) Masters, his wife of 62 years.

Born November 27, 1930 in Holley, NY, he was the son of the late Emory and Marion (Cliff) Masters. Lee enlisted in the US Navy in 1947, serving for 21 years achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer electrician mate. Upon retiring from the Navy in 1969, Lee worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Bristol, RI. He operated Lee’s Variety Store near the Bristol Town Common until fire damaged the building it occupied. Lee was self-employed as an electric motor and appliance repairman for Masters and Sons of Bristol, RI. He also worked at Walco Electric in Providence, RI.

Lee was a member of The Gideons International, Newport, RI camp and was an active member of Abundant Life Assembly of God in N. Swansea, MA. Lee, along with his wife, had formerly ministered to the youth of their neighborhood with a time of singing and bible stories to enrich the lives of so many people. He was a former member of The First Baptist Church of Bristol and member of Radiant Life, formerly known as Church Of The Holy Spirit in Warren, RI.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six grieving children, Steven Masters and his wife, Chris of Englewood, FL, Lee Masters and his wife Linda of Rehoboth, MA, Mark Masters and his partner, Kathy Fox of Johnston, RI, Timothy Masters and his wife, Beth of North Kingstown, RI, Daniel Masters of Bristol, RI, and Kathleen Masters of Warren, RI, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
