Leo T. Paquin, Jr., 80, of East Providence, passed away peacefully at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston on Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Phoebe Paquin (Cotta) for over 49 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Leo Theophile Paquin, Sr. and Louise H. Bridges.
Leo proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 115th Military Police from 1954 till 1963. Leo worked as a truck driver for Mr. Messenger until 1973. He also worked at Victor Electric Wire & Cable Corp and Concordia Manufacturing.
He always worked hard but valued family time Saturdays were date night for him and the love of his life. Sundays were reserved for family fun day. Leo leaves six children: Larry F Defreitas and his wife Sharon of Warwick, Robert J. Defreitas of East Providence,, James M. Defreitas and his long time companion Lynn Frassica of East Providence. Loriann Budziak and her husband Owen Budziak of Exeter, Leo T Paquin III of Cranston and Joseph Paquin and his wife Julie of Riverside. He will be missed by his 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 2 nephews whom he loved dearly. Leo was the brother to the late Carol L. Paquin and the grandfather of the late Jason Defreitas.
Leo would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with his beloved wife who he missed dearly, family and friends he has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. his new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be socializing, dancing, fishing, Playing cards, and watching sports till his heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. He left detailed instructions for his family to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.”
