Linda A. (Palagi) Brule, 57, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 14, 2016.

Linda was born on December 20, 1958 in Pawtucket R.I. She was a long term resident of Cumberland and was currently living in Chepachet. She was the daughter of the late Edward E. Palagi and Anne Marie (Deschaine) Palagi. She is survived by her loving companion Robert Gauthier; two brothers Jeffrey and Douglas; two sisters Patricia and Lori; three children, Joshua, Jessica and Jonathan, two granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a 1977 graduate of Cumberland High School, and Graduate from the Sawyer School in 1997.  To many she was known as the “Toxic Waste Queen of Cumberland’ as she tirelessly fought to have her voice heard to protect our water, ground and air from unsafe chemical exposure.  She frequented town meetings, and petitioned for action to protect the environment for future generations.

Her greatest joy came from her family and friends, especially the children in her life.  Linda was loved by many and brought great joy to all she met. She always had a smile on her face, and she put her faith in God and gave thanks for his blessings every day. Although Linda will be greatly missed, her family is comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain and reunited with her late parents.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, January 22 at
10 a.m. in the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited to join us and share happy memories.
In lieu of flowers, Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
