Mary Schuster
July 7, 1920 - October 11,  2011

Mary Roselli Schuster, 91, a resident of Bay Spring Atria in Barrington, RI, died October 11 at Rhode Island Hospital after  a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, brother, Joseph and sister, Stella. Her loving nieces, Jean Bahrman (Ellsworth) and Pamela Nessing (Donald), were at Mary’s bedside when she entered into heaven.

Born at home in Bay Shore, NY, Mary excelled in athletics at Bay Shore High School. At the outset of World War II, with women being welcomed into the workforce, she took a job at Grumman Aircraft, home of the famous Navy Wildcat and Hellcat fighter planes. She then moved to Republic Aviation on Long Island, retiring as a department supervisor after more than 30 years of service.

Mary often recalled the fun of wartime nights at the USO after a hard day of working on military aircraft. In her long and active life Mary loved skiing, golfing, dancing and shopping with her nieces. She also was a survivor of breast cancer for more than 50 years.

In addition to her nieces Mary is survived by nephew, John (Dolores), grandnephew Michael (Vickie), grandnieces Sybil (John) and Andrea, and great grandnieces Jessica, Rebecca, Stella and Anna. She also leaves behind a multitude of friends at Atria, where she acted as ambassador and welcoming friend to new residents.  A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Atria at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 22.
