Annette J. Varieur was the daughter of Damase and Georgiana (Lizotte) Pelletier and was the youngest child of seven. Annette is survived by sons Paul Ernest, 68, and Donald Robert, 67, and by daughter Jeanne Diane (George), 57. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Annette loved music, travel, good food and she especially prized education. Having to leave high school before graduating to help support her family, she later completed her GED and went on to earn an associates degree. She achieved her degree after having her first two children, attending night school after work.
Shortly after retiring at the age 72, she took her lifelong desired trip to Hawaii where she rode in a helicopter to view the different islands. She was always on board for a new experience.
Annette worked as a bookkeeper for more the 50 years for various companies in Rhode Island and Connecticut, including Dario Ford and Broadway Tire, where she worked until she retired.
Fiercely independent, she lived in Shalom Elderly Apartments in Warwick until her stay at Kent Regency.
Every year on her birthday, beginning when she turned 90, her daughter would ask her, “Did you ever think you would live this long?” Her answer was always, “No.” Then her daughter would ask, “Did your life go by fast?” “In the blink of an eye,” Annette would say, “in the blink of an eye.”
