Conrad Joseph Granito

Conrad J. Granito MD, age 86, of Providence, RI, passed away peacefully July 6th, 2022.

Conrad was born on March 24th, 1936 in Minersville, Pennsylvania to John and Alice Granito. He was the oldest brother to the late John Granito and Alyce Hobbs. From Minersville, he went on to attain his medical degree at Hahnemann Medical College in 1962. As a General Practitioner and later a Psychiatrist, Conrad took care of thousands of patients during the course of his five plus decade career in Pennsylvania, New York, California and Rhode Island.

Conrad's life was enriched by his cherished wife of 46 years, Denise Ames Granito and their children together: Etienne Granito Mechrefe and her husband Anthony Mechrefe MD, the late Britney Ames Granito, and Amelie Granito Tartaglione and her husband Jason Tartaglione MD. Conrad was the beloved father to Conrad Granito Jr. and his wife Karina, David Granito and his wife Irma, Philip Granito and his late wife Deanna, Stephen Granito and his wife Laura, and Judith Granito Golyer and her husband Ronnie Golyer.

He was the loving grandfather of Yasmine, Lillia, and Anthony Mechrefe, Arthur and Lucas Tartaglione, Chase Granito, Noah, Katarinah, and Santino Granito, Madison Granito Bishop and Savannah Granito, Meghan Granito Spradling and Matthew Granito, and Emma Golyer. As well as a great grandfather to Caroline and Cameron Spradling.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Orleans, Cape Cod, MA, in fall of 2022, date to be announced.
