John A. Ferruolo, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Vincent and Jennie (Gaito) Ferruolo. He was also a brother of the late Gloria Vingi and Raymond Ferruolo, and uncle of the late Vincent Ferruolo.
John is survived by his partner of 10 years Wendy Johnson, brother Robert Ferruolo, 10 nieces and nephews: Stephen, John, Raymond and Richard Vingi; Debra D'Iorio; Gina Maraia; Raymond, Lynne and Robert Ferruolo; and Tonya Sullivan, as well as dozens of lifelong friends.
In his youth John attended Blessed Sacrament School and Mt. Pleasant High School, graduating in 1963. He earned a degree in electronics from Rhode Island Institute of Technology. His career as a field engineer for Raytheon allowed him to travel the world for years before returning to Rhode Island.
John served the US Army in combat as an infantryman from 1969-1971 and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.
John was an avid golfer and member of Triggs Memorial Inner Club for many years.
A private service will be held at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
