Aranki, Dr. Gloria V, 79, passed away on November 4, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Alexander Aranki to whom she was married to for 55 years. Born in Arica, Chile on December 29, 1937, she was the daughter Elvira (Avendaño) and Colonel Guillermo Vargas, DMD.Raised in Chile, she attended the University of Chile and received her Doctorate of Dentistry in 1961 with a specialty in Orthodontics. Dr. Aranki immigrated to the United States becoming a United States citizen in the 1970s. For twenty years, she worked in the laboratory at Eleanor Slater Hospital of Rhode Island.Gloria V. Aranki was blessed with a daughter, Gloria Aranki DiLucia and her husband Stephen DiLucia of Cranston. Grandmother of Stephanie and Alexander DiLucia. She was the loving sister to the late Nelson Vargas and Colonel Guillermo Vargas as well as many nieces and nephews and many loved family members. Family and friends are invited to attend A Funeral Mass for Gloria V. Aranki at 10am on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in St. Marys Church, 103 Pine St, Pawtucket, RI.
