The best Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather in the world.Henry H. Godin, 93, passed away on December 26, 2011, at Kent Hospital in Warwick. He was the husband of the late Jeannette Godin. Born in Providence on October 10, 1918, he was the son, Orisece Lagasse and Hermidos Godin. After serving in the United States Army during WWII, Henry attended Rhode Island School of Design becoming an accomplished Master Ornamental Hand Engraver. He worked for Gorham Silver Company where he created extraordinary engravings on works of art including restorations to the Queen of England’s Silver tea service and the Kentucky Derby Trophy.He loved old movies, East Matunuck State beach, volleyball, singing, playing guitar and the piano. Without question, spending time being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchild was his greatest joy.Henry Godin was the proud father to father to: Richard (deceased); and Helen Peake-Godin; Rosalyn and Anthony Simonelli; Patricia Godin; Robert Beinars; and Michael Doughty. Grandfather to: Michael and Elice Doughty; Patrick Doughty; Jessica Jimenez; Erica and Kevin Hagen; Jonathan and Ashlee Godin; Valerie and Thomas Becker; and Anna Godin. He will also be missed by his great-granddaughter, Alexia Jimenez.
