Rose Hall Obituary

Mrs. Rose C. Hall, age 94, passed away on January 3, 2020.

Rose was born in Detroit, MI to Albert and Josephine Zyla on September 17, 1925. She married Robert F. Hall of Elmira, NY on April 22, 1950 in Detroit, MI.

Rose dedicated her life to caring for those around her. After graduating from nursing school she worked for over 40 years as a registered nurse. She was inspirational to nieces and nephews with their decisions to pursue careers in the health care field as well. Her cruising back 'n' forth to her job as an industrial nurse at Cadillac Motor in downtown Detroit in her snazzy '68 Camaro is especially memorable.

After retirement, she became an avid reader and shared the knowledge gained with her children to make their lives easier. She enjoyed dabbling in calligraphy, learning foreign languages, and helping her husband Bob with his real estate appraisal business.

Towards the end she enjoyed the company and conversation of friends she made while living in her Park Avenue apartment.

Rose was preceded in death by father Albert Zyla, mother Josephine Zyla, husband Robert F. Hall, siblings John Zyla, Joseph Zyla, Mary Orlikowski, Frank Zyla, Helen Schimeck, Genevieve Miller, Theresa Makowski, and Edward Zyla. She is survived by children Margaret R. Hall and husband Donald Cornett of Vinton, VA, daughter Mary H. McGoldrick of West Warwick, RI, son Robert J. Hall and wife Teresa Hall of Austin, TX, grandchildren Bridget Graziano and husband David Graziano of Cranston, RI, Kaitlynn Hall and husband Dustin Galindo of Seattle, WA, Justin Hall of Austin, TX. Great-grandchildren Liam Graziano and Aedan Graziano of Cranston, RI.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 11, 2020 at St. Paul's Catholic Church One Saint Paul Place, Cranston, RI 02905. Rose's ashes will be interred next to her husband Robert at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI.

Rose asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
