After a valiant fight, Selvin Antonio Morales Sosa passed away at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. He can finally breathe easy. Selvin leaves behind a loving wife and best friend Erika, brother Douglas, sisters Deysi, Suceli, and Julisa, parents Juan and Olivia, and countless other family members and friends. Selvin also leaves behind a much-loved goldfish of nearly 8 years Mohawk, aka Fish.
Selvin has always been a kind, caring, and loving person, who would give you the shirt off his back. Selvin came to this country in 2002 from Guatemala in search of a better life. One of the hardest workers, he would often say “I worked 105 hours a week” to help support his family. Selvin will always be remembered as an incredibly selfless man. In his free time, Selvin would build models, cars, steam boats, and stereo systems. From the Acura “Ay My ACURA” to the BMW and Zuko the Suzuki, Selvin loved his cars and his music. He spent many nights driving around, Tego Calderon or La Cripta bumping, shaking windows and setting off other people’s car alarms. That was Selvin, seemingly quiet, pero de La Tierra Caliente, siempre con fuego.
Selvin was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2006, but it never stopped him, just slowed him down for a bit. He met his loving wife Erika in January 2008, it wasn’t quite love at first sight, but that’s a story for another day. Selvin and Erika were inseparable and eloped November 13th, 2014. Countless outings, trips, activities, and often just watching TV together, Selvin and Erika would make the best out of any situation. After his bone marrow transplant in 2009, Selvin thought each day alive was a gift, and he spent it with his family.
