Stephen Albert Farmer, age 62, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on the evening of February 9, 2012, following a brief illness. Mr. Farmer was born in Providence, RI, on November 29, 1949. His father, Richard Farmer was a respected captain of the Providence Fire Department. His mother, Edith Saabye Farmer, was a kind soul with a loving heart. Mr. Farmer resided in Peacedale, RI, and for 45 years owned and operated Farmer’s Fabulous Fix-It Factory, the best automotive repair shop in the state. Throughout the years he came to befriend just about everyone in South County, and he lived a colorful and full life. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 18 at the Elks Lodge at 60 Belmont Avenue in Wakefield, starting at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses will be greatly appreciated. He is survived by his two children, Jennifer Nantell and Steve Lawrence; his brother, Richard Farmer; and his sister Judith Foley.
