Stockton L. Shepperton, Jr. “Shep” 67, passed away very peacefully at RI Hospital on Jan. 12, 2012 surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Stockton L. Shepperton, Sr. and Evelyn (Becker) Shepperton. Shep had lived in Riverside and Barrington, RI and spent 12 peaceful years in rural North Carolina. Shep attended East Providence High, FSU, Johnson and Wales and Halifax Colleges. He served in the Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a Sales Rep. and an independent commercial fisherman. Shep was a longtime friend of Bill W., and had a love for animals and nature, especially the water. He will be remembered for his hearty laugh and straight forward wisdom. Shep is survived by his devoted wife, Gail; his loving son, Curtis Sutherland (Allison); grandchildren Will and Daniel; a brother, Alan (Fran), and a nephew, David. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250, or the RI Community Food Bank. Memorial services will be private.
