Alan Tracy, 58, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2024. Born on December 5, 1965 in Manchester, NH, Alan was known for being a devoted father, loving son, multi-disciplinary artist, and dedicated yogi. Alan was treasured by everyone who knew him. He infused his artistic spirit in every aspect of his life, appreciating the process of creation, collaboration, and curiosity.

Alan is survived by his parents Joan and Bill Tracy of Arcade, NY, sister Rebecca Knight of Sardinia, NY, daughter Rose Tracy, and son with daughter-in-law, Justin and Nicole Tracy, of Manchester, NH. Alan's legacy encourages people to connect with the ones around them and pursue their creative endeavors.

In 2013, Alan obtained a Bachelors in Fine Arts with a focus in Russian Textile Arts from Goddard College. Each creative decision was intuitive and informed by the depths of our lived experiences. Alan approached his art with precision, yet remained open to new discoveries, taking risks and changing course if the piece guided him that way. Alan's artistic background extended beyond his own practice, dedicating over 20 years in a distinguished career at the Rhode Island School of Design as an event coordinator, career services advisor, and mentor.

A gathering to celebrate Alan's life will be held on Saturday, June 15th from 12-3 pm at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard Providence, RI. His family invites those who knew Alan to share memories of a man who made a lasting impact. These actions were through his gentle presence, charismatic personality, and generosity.
