Anthony Yoon Ki Shin was born in Young-duk, near Busan, Korea on November 10, 1936. He married Choon Ja Choi in 1962 and had three children: Monica, Kap, Mariana. In 1970 Anthony immigrated by himself to Brazil to seek better opportunities. After one year of hard work, he was able to save enough money to invite his whole family there. He became a Christian, and God and church became central to his life. He prospered in Brazil with his own business, and in 1981 he moved hin family to the United States, eventually settling in Seattle. He was active in Korean church as a deacon. Anthony is remembered as a hard working man dedicated to his family and as a devoted Christian.
He will be deeply missed by his children: Monica Suk Hyang von Zadora-Gerlof; Kap Jung Shin; Mariana Sung Hee Petermann; and his grandchildren: Alexandra von Zadora-Gerlof; Carolyn Hae Won Shin; Lauren Hae Min Shin; and Katharina Petermann.
