Anthony "Tony" M Reed

Anthony (Tony) M. Reed, 69, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frederick D. Reed and Concetta (Rossi) Reed. Tony was a veteran of the United States Army, Vietnam era, and went on to be a truck driver for over 35 years, with such excellence, never having had an accident in his entire career. He was a retired Teamster Local 251 and last worked for Estes Transportation. Tony loved telling many trucker stories remembering all the guys he drove with with such admiration and respect. He was also a car fanatic, leasing different makes and models usually before the lease was even up. He was a lover of cell phones, technology, computers and had the most extensive knowledge of all things tech related. Tony was a hard-working, generous, loving man who loved life and lived with many illnesses, fighting them all with courage and incredible strength. He got up every day and fought so hard to keep active and keep up a positive spirit, despite, his many health challenges. He loved spending his time with his beloved girlfriend Cheryl, her son Derek, and her daughters Alyssa and Ariana, and her grandsons Mason and Jameson. Family was everything to Tony and he was a huge presence, talking and telling stories to everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tony is preceded in death by his son, Michael Reed, and his brother, Frederick Reed. He leaves behind his beloved girlfriend, partner, Cheryl, her children and grandchildren, and her brothers, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services for Tony will be private, in keeping with his wishes.
