Barbara Renner Obituary

It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart the our family is announcing that Barbara (Hoffman) Renner, 78, beloved Wife, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Mother-in-law, was called home on July 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at home after a courageous battle with her health. She entered this world on October 23, 1944 in Rockville Centre, NY, born to Edgar and Lillian Hoffman.

Barbara's life took her to many places and spanned many careers. From radio personality in Attenborough, Massachusetts, beautician and instructor in Maine. Barbara was also a caring long time member of the medical profession including various positions as a CNA in many nursing homes and finally retiring as a medical Technician at St. Anne's hospital in Fall River, MA.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Richard Renner, her brother Edgar Hoffman, her mother Lillian Hoffman, father Edgar J. Hoffman and longtime companion John Smith. Barbara will also be greeted by her many many animal companions that she adored throughout life. All of whom were waiting to greet her with open arms and loving warm smiles.

She is survived by her daughter Eva Furtado and her long time partner Robert Chase, Dawn King and her husband Dennis, and Heather O'Brien and her husband Mark. Barbara is also survived by her grand children Richard Machowski; Kenneth Machowski and his fiance Tiffany Geddings-Rhoton, Peter Furtado and his fiance Kaylyn Lockyer, David Furtardo and his longtime partner Mary Gray, Andrew Cantin, Zachary Cantin and his fiance Tori Alves , Jennifer Ferreira, and Matthew Ferreira and his partner Kailyn Perry. Barbara also leaves behind several great-grandchildren Joseph Machowski, Carter Cantin, Aubree Cantin, Miller Cantin, Jenavieve Ferreira, Elija Machowski, and Rose Machowski.

Barbara is known and loved by many. She was a selfless person who loved her family and friends. She took the time to get to know those around her and made many friends throughout her life. She will be sadly missed by all who got to know her. Growing up all our friends would call her Mom, and our children's friends called her grandma. As we try to cope with this great loss of someone so dear to us we would like everyone to take a moment and enjoy your family and your friends.

We would like to express our sincerest appreciation to all of those who were involved in the end of life care for Barbara, Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. The 1st floor staff were absolutely amazing. Hope Health Hospice team that helped to keep her comfortable and provide her with spiritual support in her final days on earth.

Per Barbara's final request there will be no services. We will be holding a celebration of life at a later time. Please feel free to share any messages or memories that will fill our hearts with love at this time.
