On Monday, April 12, 2021, Bradford Youngdahl, an adventurous soul, passed away at the age of 59.
Brad was born on June 10, 1961 to Carol and Donald Youngdahl in Providence, Rhode Island. He is survived by his sister, Joy Kneupper and brother, Jeff Youngdahl. His legacy lives on through his two children, Nicholas and Jacqueline Youngdahl, who were the light of his life, and Kendall and Connor McCarthy, his niece and nephew.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, sitting around a fire relishing the company he kept. That company usually included Dave Smith and Steve (Murph) Murphy, friends since 5 years old, brothers for life. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years, actively participating in weekend outings to New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont, some of his favorite places to go, where he helped pave the way for future leaders.
He was a total deadhead. His love for music and concert-going made him a lively DJ, and he later became a professional ballroom dancer and instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. He was a tool maker for many years, and then ran his own transportation business, Bradford's Transportation, a successful one employee company, ran by a man of many talents.
Brad was what people described as the "life of the party." He always walked in with a smile wrapped around his face, ready to talk to anyone and everyone he could. He loved meeting new faces, people that came and went, enjoying their stories and passing along his stories as well. He will be remembered as a proud father, and a friend to all.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 6-7 PM at Olson and Parent Funeral Home. Our one request is to please wear something colorful (optional).
