Candido Berrios Rivera, 83, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday April 2, 2026. Born on October 3, 1942 in Comerio, Puerto Rico, to the late Juan Berrios Hernandez and Georgina Berrios Rivera.

Mr. Berrios was one of the original members of Club Taino, a Puerto Rican social, cultural, and community organization, where he contributed to preserving and celebrating Puerto Rican heritage. He was a NY Yankees and Patriots fan to the core. What he loved more than anything in the world, was HIS FAMILY.

Candito is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Conrada "Cory" Berrios Rolon, but family knows her as "Iris". He was blessed with children: his son, Candido Berrios Jr. and his wife, Sarita Berrios; and his daughter, Janice Berrios. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Carlos Franco, Veronica Berrios Matthews, Yesenia Berrios Correa, Kiara Iris Berrios, Angelo Marquis Felder, Nicole Brianna Felder, and Devin Christian Dozier; and his great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Matthews, Iris Rosalie Tavares, Julian Matthews, and Aryana Rose Correa.

He is also survived by his siblings: Maria Berrios, Carmelo Berrios, Miguel Berrios, Jose Berrios, Edwin Berrios, and Jorge Berrios, along with over sixty nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Mr. Berrios was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Berrios Hernandez and Georgina Berrios Rivera, his son Carlos A. Berrios, and his siblings Juan Berrios, Hilda Berrios, Anibal Berrios, and Victor Berrios.

Candito was known for his unconditional love and unwavering support for his entire family. His presence, strength, and devotion, advice, blessings and lessons will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday April 9, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Olson & Parent Funeral Home, 417 Plainfield St, Providence, RI 02909.

Burial will be private.

Flowers ordered on this website after 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, will be presented to the family following the service.
