Eli Edwin Hamblet, Jr.

Eli Edwin Hamblet, Jr., 64, of Saunderstown, Rhode Island, passed away Wednesday. March 3rd, at Rhode Island Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Susan Hamblet, and their three children, Julianne Hamblet, 23, Jack Hamblet, 24, and Eli Hamblet, 25, one grandchild, Reagan Oswalt, and a sister, Christine Williams, of Seattle. Eli was born in Seattle, Washington to Marvel Damgaard Hamblet and Eli Hamblet Sr. (deceased). He was proud to have served his country in Vietnam as a marine. After the service he attended the University of Washington and went to work at Honeywell where through several company division sales and name changes (Honeywell. Hughes, Alliant Techsystems, and Raytheon), he continued to work for over 40 years. Eli was a wonderful loving husband and father -- naturally thoughtful and generous. He volunteered with the Boys Scouts of America, the Special Olympics, and the American Heart Association. He had an infectious laugh and could talk with a Donald Duck voice. His cousin by marriage and long time friend, Dan Bair, described Eli as the man every mother would want their son to grow up to be. We will miss him. Eli will be laid to rest at the Edmonds Memorial Cemetery in Washington State in a private graveside service.
