George Flynn, 78, beloved Husband and Son, was called to his eternal resting place on August 7, 2023. He entered this world on June 29, 1945, in Fall River, MA, born to Bernard and Josephine Flynn. He is survived by his wife Laura Flynn of over 42 years.
George was blessed with two children, George Flynn Jr. and Andrew Flynn and his wife Theresa. He will be missed by his siblings; Patricia Gallagher and her husband William Wadsworth, Bernard Flynn and Josephine Watts and her husband James Watts.
Before graduating from Roger Williams College in 1979, George served in the United States Air Force from 1966 through 1970.
George and Laura were married in Newport, Rhode Island October 16, 1981. He worked as an Engineer for Naval Underwater Systems Center in Newport, RI. He worked on the Trident Submarine and later worked for Singer-Librascope, in Glendale, CA. He continued his work as a Software Engineer for the B1-B Lancer at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
George also was very active as a 32 year Past Member of Crystalaire Country Club, Llano CA and served in all offices during that time. He was a current member of Kings Crossing Golf Course, North Kingstown RI and served all offices of the Littlerock Lions Club, Littlerock, CA. He was very proud to be the Ride Manager of the annual Endurance Ride.
George will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Claire, Erin, Gavin and Samuel Flynn. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews; Jay Flynn, Richard (Lori) Flynn, Timothy (MaryEllen) Harrington and Gwen Gallagher and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. George also leaves behind his beloved dog, Tramp.
A committal service for George with full military honors will take place at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery (TBA) after a memorial service at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Somerset, MA (TBA).
