George von Keller III Obituary

George A.C.F. von Keller III, 80, died on April 24, 2023, at the Overlook Nursing Home in Glocester, RI. He was the first child born to George A.C. Keller, Jr. (II) and Aileen Keller (Neel) on November 6, 1942. He was the beloved spouse of Ludivini Jennilee von Keller (Flores) for fourteen years. He was blessed with a child, George A.C. Keller, IV of Medford, MA.

George spent his early childhood in Valley Stream, NY (Long Island) while his Father served in WWII. He and his family, including his sister, DeAnn, and brother, Neel, and later Roger, moved to Wayland, MA where he attended the local high school. After high school he attended Suffolk University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.

George voluntarily enlisted in the army and was stationed in Germany serving in Vietnam War. After his service to his country, he worked as a newspaper reporter until employed at Honeywell as a technical writer. This is where he met his first wife, Mary Ann. They moved to Ashland, MA where their son George A.C. Keller IV was born in 1974. He left Honeywell and began working at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) as a technical writer and held positions in marketing and sales.

He was divorced from his wife Mary Ann in 1980 and moved to Acton/Concord/Boxboro area. Years later, he left Digital and worked as a writer for several smaller companies. He remarried in 1992 and moved to western Rhode Island. He was divorced from his second wife in 2006. George married Ludivini Jennilee Flores in 2009 who stayed by his side providing unconditional love and care for fourteen years.

George was a multifaceted individual with vast knowledge and many interests. While he graduated with a degree in Journalism and had a career mainly as a technical writer, he was quite a history "buff" and was very knowledgeable in American and European history. He also had an interest in music (ranging from opera to classic rock), as well as cinema and acting. He performed in a play and sang in church choirs. He spent time in organized revolutionary war reenactments. He was an outdoorsman, with a keen interest in camping, fishing, and hunting. He was a conservationist, environmentalist, philanthropist, as well as a political activist. He supported and contributed to several causes including public television, native American heritage, climate change, endangered species (whales, polar bears, etc.), to name just a few. He shared all of these interests (including music, art, history, politics, as well as science fact and science fiction) with his close friends and family, especially his son who keeps his memory alive forever.

A Funeral Service for George will take place at 12:00 pm on May 5, 2023, at the Gloria Dei Church, 15 Hayes St. Providence, RI. Visiting Hours will take place at the church the same day from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. After the service, George will be buried with full Military Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
