Obituary
Heather Marie Cahoon (née Mageau) beloved spouse of Gregory Benson and beloved mother of her children Desiree and Evan died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Born in Charlestown, RI, Heather was admired and loved for her warm and sensitive heart, her large generosity and quick sense of laughter. She especially loved the energy and fun of family gatherings during the holidays. She was one of those good people always ready to help anyone in need. Her kindness and gift for making others feel welcome and loved developed over her many years working as a substance abuse counselor. Her personal joy and peace were her solitary walks in nature, her love for "her" birds and their houses and the joy of working in her garden and yard. She loved her family and her grandchildren Heather and Trace Perez, Olivia Cahoon and her great-grandchild, Caden Gillogly. Heather leaves her family with the deepest of love.
The family will be holding a private service in the spring of next year.
