Ismael "Papo" De Jesus Jr, age 74, passed away on December 3, 2023.
Mr. Ismael "Papo" DeJesus Jr., son of the late Ismael DeJesus Sr. and the late Carmen "Toni" DeJesus was born in Brooklyn, NY and later raised in Rockaway Beach, NY along with his siblings. Since an early age, "Papo" enjoyed playing handball, he loved to paint, he enjoyed boxing, and he also loved to sing with his music doo wop group. He later moved to RI in 1976 with his loving family. He became a grandfather and great-grandfather and was united in matrimony on July 1, 2006, to Donna DeJesus of West Warwick, RI.
Mr. DeJesus was an active member of the community. His passion was working in MAPS Outreach organization, where he worked for 10 years. He enjoyed helping those in need of Alcohol and Drug rehabilitation. He also enjoyed working with the fishing boats in Narragansett, RI where he was also employed with a fishing company for 10 years before he retired.
Ismael had a very big heart, an outgoing personality, and infectious smile. He was once deemed the "Mayor of Central Falls" by his friends and family. His favorite charity was the Jehovah Witness Organization where he and his wife were devoted members. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He quietly departed this life Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. He was preceded in death by his father Ismael DeJesus Sr., mother Carmen DeJesus, brother Archie DeJesus, brother Hector DeJesus, sister Dora Ortiz, and sister Yvette DeJesus-Burgos.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife: Donna DeJesus.
His children; daughters Beckie DeJesus-Whetstone, Naomi DeJesus-Snead, and son Thomas DeJesus, stepson Andre Tillman, and stepdaughter Syroya Eugene.
His Siblings; Brother Edwin DeJesus, Brother Richard DeJesus, and Sister Nereida DeJesus. Also, his nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, family and friends.
Memorial will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1:30pm at:
