James R. Arnold, 68, formerly of Warwick, passed away December 19, 2024, at the Hope Health Hospice Center.
Known as Jimmy to all who knew and loved him.
Born in Providence, RI and raised in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Florent and Jeannine (Landry) Arnold.
Jim was a 1974 honors graduate of Pawtucket West High and received an Associate Degree in Applied Science at the Community College of Rhode Island.
Jim was an accomplished carpenter, working for American Lath as a framer/plasterer and specialized in sheet rock applications for many years until his retirement.
In his free time, he often took on home improvement projects including remodeling and room additions to existing living spaces.
Jim was an avid sports fan, especially loyal to the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. In his younger days, he also enjoyed playing baseball on a local adult baseball league, as well as skiing the NH Mountains in the winter. A favorite past-time was relaxing by the waters at Oakland Beach.
Jim is survived by his former wife Sharon (Murphy) Arnold and son, Matthew Arnold, both of Warwick and his daughter, Jamie Arnold of North Carolina. He also leaves his sisters, Linda Richard of North Smithfield and Janet Arnold of Pawtucket and two grandchildren Brayden and Brynn Arnold of Warwick. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Arnold of Warwick.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Hope Hospice of Providence for their compassionate care of Jim.
His Memorial Service will be private at a later time.
