Joan C. Stewart Lyons, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Joan was the cherished daughter of Madeline L. Stewart and John J. Stewart. She is predeceased by her siblings David, Madeline, and her twin sister, Mary. 

Joan's legacy lives on through her six children: Janice Reisner (Sheldon), Joan Lyons Cain (Daniel), William Lyons, Laura Lyons (Joseph), Gregory Lyons (Julie), and Jennifer Lyons. She was a devoted grandmother to three and a proud great-grandmother to two. Joan also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

Joan had a passion for gardening, ancestry research, and traveling, particularly enjoying cruises. She began her genealogy work long before the advent of modern online tools, demonstrating her dedication and curiosity.

In accordance with her final wishes, there will be no services. Joan's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
