Joel Martin Niemi

Joel Martin Niemi 72 of Hope RI passed away December 16,2025

Joel was born February 22,1953 in Kent County RI to Leo Niemi and Elma Niemi (Jarvi)

Joel graduated from Scituate High School in 1971. He worked as a Logger and Iron worker with Local 37. He was a life long resident of Rhode Island.  

He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Elma Niemi, his brother John Niemi and sister Janis Lamb.

Surviving Joel are his children: son- Joel Martin Niemi Jr and his wife Kerron of Scituate RI, daughter-Brittany Olney and her husband James of Burrillville RI and his sister Judith Gallagher and her husband George of Scituate RI. He is also survived by his grandsons- Dylan Niemi, Gabriel Niemi, Aidan Niemi, James Olney and Wyatt Olney. 

In accordance with Joel's wishes a cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
