John L. Cross Sr., 80 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at HopeHealth Hospice Care in Providence, RI.  John was a special educator at East Greenwich High School and worked as an agent for Nationwide Insurance until he retired and took up residency in Mueang Nong Khai, Thailand where he lived with his life partner Rungnapha "Rung" Singkan.  He enjoyed boating, biking, golfing, traveling, woodworking and looked forward to time spent with family and friends when he came back to Rhode Island each summer.

John leaves behind three children, John L. Cross Jr., Elizabeth Fortier, Karolyn Labrecque, and five grandchildren, Azzurra Cross, Abraham Labrecque, Harrison Labrecque, Nina Fortier and Luke Fortier.  John was predeceased by his parents John Cross and Rosemary (Lepry) Cross, and sisters Mary Dugas and Joan Ann McNamee.  He also leaves brothers and sisters:  Anthony Cross, James Cross, Ellen Daniels and Margaret Domina.

Per John's wishes, no wake or funeral services will be held.  John's children would like to thank the medical and support staff at Miriam Hospital and HopeHealth Hospice Care for their dedication and compassion during his final moments, allowing him to pass with dignity and respect.
