Judy Schwab passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island. She was born in Iola Kansas and lived in Seattle, California and Connecticut before settling in Providence. After raising her children, Gary, Brian and Karen, she went back to school and became a human relations counsellor.

She was justifiably proud of her work helping people with their relationships and personal growth. Her practice started in Connecticut where she used techniques pioneered by Reich, Gordon, Larson, and others. In 1982, she and Walter Schwab founded Human Dimensions, Inc. They guided clients through family maps, use of Jungian archetypes, and the principles of the Human Potential Movement to better cope with the world and their place in it.

Judy and Walter moved their practice to Providence where Judy had interned under Saul Silverman. From there, they traveled, worked with clients and deepened their relationship. They were married in 1985. They spent the next 25 years together until Walter passed away in 2010. Judy continued the work of Human Dimensions until illness stopped her in 2025.

Judy was a deeply curious life long learner. She explored various cultural, spiritual and magical orientations along with physics and psychology. It was not unusual to hear her discuss diverse topics from the latest discoveries in quantum physics to astrology to the antics of the British royal family.

She will be missed by a host of clients, many good friends and her family.

 

A Memorial Service and Inurnment of Judy and Walter Schwab will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI 02906. Reception to follow.

A Picnic in Celebration of Judy and Schwab will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Colt State Park, Route 114, Bristol, RI  02809.
