Keith Francis Barrington, 60, (Boney) A proud and independent local from Peace Dale who insisted on living life on his own terms, died June 4, 2022. Often referred to as the Major of Peace Dale, Keith was a daily visitor to many of Peace Dale establishments and neighbors. Known for his friendly "hello's" and soft smile, Keith knew the local news and hear say long before it became news. Keith was born at South County Hospital, August 9, 1961 to Ann (Dresser) Barrington and Kenneth N. Barrington (deceased). As a kid, Keith, his brother and cousins ran the streets of Peace Dale and Wakefield, fishing, swimming and playing never venturing to far from home on Broad Rock Road.

A commercial fisherman and carpenter by trade, Keith could fix just about anything. Artistic by nature, building became second nature to him. Keith was instrumental with upkeep and repair at the Welcome House. He developed excellent cooking skills from his days on the fishing vessels and could prepare a feast. An animal lover, generous and a friend to those less fortunate than he, Keith never pretended to be anything but himself. We will miss you Boney, you are a legend.

Keith leaves behind a son, Kenny Lillibridge, brother, Kenny Barrington and wife Marcia of Freeport, Maine, nephews Kyle Barrington (Lisa) and Nicholas Barrington, Great nieces and nephews, Isaiah, Willow, Hazel, Layla, and Zoe. He will be missed by a very large extended family of Barrington's and Ferreira's.
