Linda Roberts Obituary

Linda Brett Roberts, 62, passed away on May 3, 2019 in Providence, R.I. Born in Riverdale, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Francine (Brett) and Vinny Roberts. She was raised in Scarsdale, N.Y., graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in veterinary science and psychology and was admitted to the Tufts Veterinary School.

Linda is survived by her beloved daughter, Renee Dass (son in law, Shiva Dass) of Florida and her sister, Lauri Roberts, of Rhode Island. She will be missed by her infant granddaughter, Eva Dass, about whom she was so excited and by her many friends that she touched with her love, kindness and complete lack of judgement.

Linda was a sweet and kind soul. She enjoyed nature, music, the beach and anything to do with animals. As much as she loved her cats and fish (in her legendary fish tanks), she was a dog whisperer. She loved every dog she met and they all loved her back. Her chihuahua family, Scaredy, Samba, Brewsy, Runty, and Suzy were her constant companions that she loved and cared for with all her heart and soul. But above and beyond everything, she loved her daughter, her “Peanut”, the most.

She was beautiful inside and out. She was a free spirit. Diminutive in size, she could seem vulnerable but she was also one tough cookie. She worked hard, ran her own business for many years and always did things her own way. She enjoyed her martinis and a good time. She loved and was loved. She was unforgettable and her memory will live on in all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace and her spirit be forever free.

A celebration of Linda’s life will take place at a future time. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated in Linda’s name to Vintage Pet Rescue (www.vintagepetrescue.org/donate) in recognition of the endless love and kindness they showed in caring for her pooches during her illness this past year.
