Lourdes Doke

​Lourdes M. Doke, 94, of Johnston, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Cecil Doke, World War II Prisoner of War. Born in Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Segundino and Emeliana (Campilan) Miel. Lourdes is a loving and caring wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Family are always welcome in her home that most of her nephew and nieces have lived with her at one point in time. She is survived by her brother Domingo and his wife Sossima Miel of Las Vegas, Nevada; her son Roman Miel of Johnston; her grandchildren Crystal and husband Joey De Leon, Carmela and husband Francis Myers, Jason and wife Mia Cobarrubia and her great grandchildren Chloe, Bono, Jacob, Malcolm, Jaden, Jason Jr and CJ. She is also survived by many dear nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her first husband, the late Roy Lorraine Walters and daughter Denia Miel. A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston, RI 02920. Her remains will then be shipped to the Philippines for burial at family plot at Himlayang Caviteno Cemetery.VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday April 5, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00PM and 6:00 - 8:00PM at OLSON & PARENT FUNERAL HOME, 417 Plainfield St, Providence, RI 02909.Family and Friends will be invited to a reception (TBD) after the mass service on Saturday.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Foundation of America online by filling out the form at https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/#gf_2 or through check (made payable to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America) by sending it to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
