Lucille Raso of Charlestown RI, formerly of Port Washington NY, lived a long and wonderful life passing away at age 105 at the Apple Clipper Nursing Home in Westerly, RI.

Born in Brooklyn NY in on May 7, 1920. She became a hairdresser at 17, was married at age 21 to the late Gerard E. Raso and became a full-time homemaker.

She leaves a son, Perry Raso, his wife Virginia of Chatsworth CA, son Gerard (Rod) Raso and wife Mari Ann of Wakefield RI, daughter, Linda Greene of Augusta Georgia and daughter, Susan Raso of Glenwood Landing NY. She will also be missed by her Grandchildren Cynthia of Westerly RI. Gregory and his wife Marianna of Charlestown RI, Perry of Wakefield RI, Kathrine Raso Figoff & Husband Jordan of CA, Jennifer Raso Wallace and husband Josh of California. Robert Coombs and wife Sun of NC, Christopher Combs, Alice Bell and Trinity Combs of Augusta GA. Great grandchildren Kia, Kona, Kate and Harper.

Lucille was a full-time homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking and was always willing to try new recipes. Having a house full of family to feed gave her great pleasure and joy. She loved nature, gardening, sewing, quilting and crafts and did them all perfectly, winning her many blue ribbons at the Washington County Fair in RI. Lucille also enjoyed fishing and taught her children how to catch fish at an early age. Her love of fishing continued till age 102 and was pictured on the front cover of the Rhode Island Saltwater Angler's December 2020 issue holding a large Black Seabass. Not be able to swim never stopped her from boarding small boats to catch fish.

Family and friends are invited to attend Lucille's Funeral Mass at 11am on August 23 at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, Charlestown, RI 02813.

Immediately following, family and friends are welcome to 610 Gravelly Hill Rd, Wakefield RI to share all wonderful and happy memories of Lucille's life.
