In the morning of November 28, 2023, Lydia E. Rodriguez Young passed away peacefully in her home in Taunton at the age of 82. Lydia was the beloved wife of George Young for over 38 years.
Lydia was born on May 28, 1941, in the City of Ponce, Puerto Rico and raised in a small town called Tibes. She was the daughter of the late Concepcion Vasquez and Carmelo Rodriguez.
In her late teens she traveled with her mother, father, and siblings to the United States. She started a new life in Taunton, Massachusetts where she resided until the day of her passing. She worked as a computer specialist for Raytheon Technologies from 1966 until her retirement in 1997. She was a very intellectual and loving woman who was passionate about helping not only her family members, but also nature. Lydia was naturally stubborn, proud, strong, but most importantly loving. She loved so much that her actions served as an inspiration to those who knew her. Her actions will forever be remembered, and her stories will be shared. She will always live in our hearts as a very special person, too special to stay with us forever.
Lydia was blessed with a large family. She was the sister to the late Carlos Rodriguez, the late Pedro Juan Rodriguez, the late Julio Rodriguez, the late Luis Alberto Rodriguez, the late Ramon Rodriguez, the late Jose Antonio Rodriguez, the late Alejandro Rodriguez, the late Luz Erminia Rodriguez.
She is survived by brother Carmelo Rodriguez, Jr., Cruz Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez Jr., Miguel Rodriguez and sisters to Emilia Rodriguez, Genoveva Rodriguez, Carmen Rodriguez Burgo and Aunt to many.
