It's with profound sadness that we share the passing of Marc Anthony Donelan who departed this life on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the age of 48.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, Marc was the son of John W. Donelan, Sr. and the late Dolores Lanner and the beloved step-son of Deborah Donelan of Forked River, NJ. He was a devoted brother to John Donelan of Barrington, RI; Tray Dozier of Oakdale, CT; Toni Lanner of Providence, RI; and Kay Lanterman of Lanoka Harbor, NJ.

Marc's greatest pride and joy were his two sons Marc A. Donelan, Jr. of Chicago, IL and Michael Donelan of Bayonne, NJ, both of whom he loved deeply and spoke of often. He was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Marc built a successful career in HVAC, working his way up to become a skilled Journeyman through dedication and hard work. His life, while marked with challenges, was a testament to his resilience - no matter how many times he was knocked down, he always got back up.

Those who knew Marc will remember his intelligence, creativity and generosity. He was quick to lend a helping hand, loved to laugh and found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing with his brother, riding his motorcycle and browsing flea markets in search of treasures and inspiration. Marc loved to start his day early with a hearty breakfast and often ended his days with a big bowl of ice cream.

Marc's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Services will be hold on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Olson & Parent Funeral Home on 417 Plainfield Street, in Providence, RI. Visiting hours will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.

 

Flowers ordered through this website after Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 5 p.m. will be presented to the family following the visitation.
