Maria Lekatsas Matzouranis, 66, beloved Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, and Aunt, was called to her eternal resting place on April 15, 2023. She entered this world on August 20, 1956, in Kefalonia, Greece born to Evangelos and Vasiliki Lekatsas.

She is survived by her husband Andreas H. Matzouranis, Sr; sons Andreas Matzouranis, Jr. and Christodoulos Matzouranis and daughter Evagelia Kiki Matzouranis.

She will be deeply missed by her brothers: Gerasimos Lekatsas and his wife Pauline Gareau Lekatsas and children Nicholas, Ara, Bryan, Sarah; Grigoris Lekatsas; Vasilis Lekatsas; Agelos Lekatsas; sisters: Matina Lekatsas; Evygenia Lekatsas; Nikoleta Lekatsas; Vasiliki Lekatsas; Basiliki Lekatsas; grandson Issac Matzouranis; niece Lemonia Retsini;sister-in-law Vasiliki Matzouranis; Eleni, Anthula and Paraskevi; and brother-in-law Pavlos Basalas and Dimitrios Matzouranis.

Maria immigrated from Kefalonia, Greece to Providence, RI at the age of 29 years old.  She lived a full life in her new home in the United States raising her family.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 10:00 am at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston.  Burial is private.  VISITATION Wednesday evening, April 19, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Olson & Parent Funeral Home, 417 Plainfield Street, Providence.
