Maureen H. McCartin Duffy, 57 of Cranston died Sunday March 7 at The Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Dorothy F. (Kelly) McCartin. She was a graduate of Classical High School and worked for 25 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant providing home health care to clients in need. She was dedicated to her work and her clients were more like family than patients. She was an avid cook whose specialties included meatballs with homemade pasta sauce and banana bread. She loved her role as mother and grandmother and made everyone in her life feel special, loved and protected.
She is survived by a son Kyle J. McCartin, a daughter Megan E. Duffy and two grandsons Grey C. and Zaiden J. McCartin. She was also the mother of the late Danielle N. Harvey.
She leaves behind her boyfriend of 18 years, Daniel J. Harvey Jr. , two sisters, Kathleen A. Hardiman and Mary Joan Flaxington, four brothers: Micheal F., Patrick J., Kevin L. and James A. McCartin. She was preceded to heaven by two brothers, Dennis A. and Brian J. McCartin.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Raymond's Church, 1240 North Main Street, Providence, RI.
Due to COVID restrictions, only 100 people are allowed in the church. The mass will also be live streamed on St. Raymond's Facebook page.
