Myriam Beverley, 89, passed away on January 18, 2022. She was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to parents Rudolfo and Angelica Acosta and had seven siblings. True to her organizational skills, she at one time was secretary to the Governor of Puerto Rico. While married to her first husband, Jesse Webb; she played a part in the University of Texas show "Carrascolendas", the first bilingual children's program in the United States. While married to her second husband, William Beverley, they traveled Europe and Africa and made their home in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Orange Park, FL and Texas for many years.
An independent woman with a quirky sense of humor, she enjoyed being around family, adored art, Latin music and loved to salsa dance whenever the music played. She had a joy for travel, visiting with friends and was an avid Hallmark movie fan. In Orange Park, as a member of the Women's club she would often dress up and help with different celebratory events. While she often got lost while driving, she would say it was an adventure to see who you would meet and what you would see.
Myriam is survived by her children: daughter, Milet Hopping and husband, Norman Hopping; son, Reese Webb and wife Heidi Webb; son, Eric Webb and wife Debbie Webb. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Brooke Hopping, Nathaniel Hopping and Norm Hopping III, Heidi Webb, Halie Webb, Holly Webb, Reese J Webb, Vaughn Rhys Webb and Austin Webb; and great great Grandchildren: Betty and Bobby Christensen, Claire Hopping and Phoenix Hopping. She was also survived by her sister Nilda Laster, sister-in-law Celina Acosta, daughter-in law Alice Webb, the late Cuca Bou, Ivan Acosta, Rene Acosta, Nereida Acosta, Jose Acosta, Charlie Acosta and countless nieces and nephews.
Myriam is being cremated and will have a family memorial to be held in Texas.
