Nancy Lincoln Obituary

Nancy Marie (Luther) Lincoln passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on March 2, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones. Born and raised in Cranston, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of Agnes Mary and the late Clarence Hall Luther. She was a graduate of Cranston High School East (class of 1970). She went on to marry William Lavoie and the couple had two children together, William Lavoie, Jr. and Christine Sorchuck.

Nancy became a CNA and spent much of her leisure time at the Upper Room Coffee House in West Warwick where many Christians hung out; and where she helped out in the kitchen along with her son, Bill; whom she loved dearly and never stopped thinking about. She was a lover of the Lord and Nancy shared that love freely with everyone around her. She had a beautiful smile and a childlike innocence that brightened every room she walked into. Anyone who knew her would tell you she was truly unforgettable. She met Alan J. Lincoln, a Garelick Farms employee at Word of Life Covenant Church in Cranston where the couple were attending; and where they were later married in 2006. They lived together in Warwick for many years until their more recent move to Woonsocket with their dog, Bella, who she loved with all her heart. Besides her mother, her two children, and her beloved husband Alan, Nancy leaves behind her Aunt and Uncle Robert and Cheryl Bailey and their two children, cousins Susan and David, and many, many friends from her church family who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be planned for the future with information forthcoming.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of Rhode Island Hospital.
