Nancy Ellen Pangman passed away at home on April 17, 2022, to be reunited with her mother and father in heaven, and entered into eternity with her Savior. She was 64 years of age. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Nancy was born on May 11, 1957, the 8th child born to Augustus and Helen Pangman. She grew up in Coventry, Rhode Island in the family home on Johnson's Pond with her 10 brothers and sisters. She always loved reminiscing about her happy childhood.
A lifelong lover and defender of animals and their rights, she would always go out of her way to help an animal in need, no matter how much time it took or how many doors she had to rattle. She could not rest if she thought she could help a stray cat or a dog in need of a home.
Nancy had a kind and generous heart. She worked hard all her life and was a fiercely strong-minded woman. She was very proud of her family and loved them very much. She never missed a chance to brag about them to anyone who would listen.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents Augustus and Helen Pangman, and brothers Billy and Buddy Pangman. Nancy leaves behind her son James Cahoon III, daughter-in-law Serena (Rucker) Cahoon, grandchildren Nathan and Natalia Cahoon, siblings Bruce, Curtis, Sharon, Gloria, Judy, Cindy, Debbie and Everett, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and her devoted boyfriend Mike Zawistoski. Nancy also leaves behind her beloved friend, her cat Libby.
An intimate family gathering will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Olson & Parent Funeral Home in Providence, RI.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
