Quetrin “Kathy” Kunhardt, age 46, born September 26, 1978, in New York City, passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, with her family and close friends by her side. She was a longtime resident of Providence, Rhode Island.

She was the eldest daughter of Luis A. Kunhardt and Rocio C. Kunhardt (Ladany), and big sister to Elvis Kunhardt, Francesca Kunhardt, and Luis Kunhardt.

Kathy was the mother of Alejandro, Jolany, and Joel, and grandmother to Ruben, Elias, Scarlett, Angel, and an unborn grandchild. As a young mother, she shared a unique bond with her children that remained strong throughout her life.

She was vivacious, dependable, sharp, and streetwise — the kind of woman who could hold a room with her voice and energy. Kathy was a true people person, always drawn to work that kept her engaged with the community. Her radiant smile and magnetic presence left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Kathy lived with intensity and joy. She loved music, dance, and celebrating life — on her terms. Always.

In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind two grandmothers, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins spread across different places — all of whom will miss her dearly.

Per her wishes, no formal services will be held. Those who knew Kathy are encouraged to honor her by living freely, loving loudly, and never dimming their light.

Fue la hija mayor de Luis A. Kunhardt y Rocio C. Kunhardt (Ladany), y hermana mayor de Elvis Kunhardt, Francesca Kunhardt y Luis Kunhardt.

Kathy fue madre de Alejandro, Jolany y Joel, y abuela de Rubén, Elías, Scarlett, Angel y un nieto aún por nacer. Siendo madre joven, compartió un vínculo único con sus hijos que se mantuvo fuerte a lo largo de su vida.

Era vivaz, confiable, inteligente y naturalmente astuta — del tipo de mujer que captaba la atención con su voz y su energía. Kathy era una persona sociable por naturaleza, siempre atraída por trabajos que la mantenían conectada con la comunidad. Su sonrisa radiante y su presencia magnética dejaban huella.

Kathy vivió con intensidad y alegría. Amaba la música, el baile y celebrar la vida — a su manera. Siempre.

Además de su familia inmediata, deja a dos abuelas, así como a muchos tíos, tías y primos repartidos por distintos lugares — todos la extrañarán profundamente.

Por su expreso deseo, no se llevarán a cabo servicios funerarios. Quienes la conocieron están invitados a honrarla viviendo en libertad, amando con fuerza y sin apagar nunca su luz.
