Ravendra Nair (Revy), 69, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 14, 2024. Born on November 12, 1955, in the Fiji Islands, son of Velaidhan and Hans Raji Nair and one of sixteen siblings. In 1981, he left his family overseas and migrated to the United States, where he built a life marked by hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family.
He resided in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and was the proud owner of Revy's Auto Repair. Revy had a deep love for cars, and that passion was the driving force behind his business. When he wasn't working on cars, he was a family man and spent most of his time in his kitchen cooking for all of his family and friends.He also took great pride in gardening. Although overseas, Revy was often calling and checking in with his many brothers and sisters of whom he loved dearly.
Ravendra is survived by his two daughters, Ronika Nair and Monika (Nair) Zuluaga; sons-in-law Adilson Fortes and Mario Zuluaga. His six grandchildren, Theo, Caleb, Chloe, Atiana, Mila, and Priya, and two grandpups, Rover and Bentley, brought him boundless joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he was a cherished uncle to.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Resham Nair, whom he lost on July 7, 2000. Despite this profound loss, Ravendra's strength and resilience shone through, continuing to build a legacy of love for his family.
Revy will be missed by so many. He will be remembered for his generosity, work ethic, smile and the passion he had for both his family, cooking and feeding his loved ones. His memory will live on in the hearts of his extended family, friends, and the community he so loyally served.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services that will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Hope and Memory Chapel in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI.
