Regina W. Irwin of N. Kingstown passed away peacefully on April 19th after being diagnosed with a terminal illness just weeks before. She is survived by son Thomas Irwin, daughter Christine Kelley, son-in-law Charles Kelley and cousin MaryAnn Carter. Regina's favorite place to be was by the ocean. She felt very fortunate to live in Rhode Island in her last few years of life, often traveling to Newport and nearby towns for day trips before her health started to decline. Regina was a devoted mother and considered everyone she met, a friend. Before she retired, she had been a professor at Framingham State University where she touched the lives of many of her students. The words most often used to describe her were kindness, generosity and a willingness to always help others in need. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Regina's family is in the process of planning a small gathering of immediate family and friends for later in the summer to celebrate Regina's life. Regina was an animal lover so in lieu of flowers, you may consider making a donation to the ASPCA or a local Rhode Island animal shelter.
