Richard Gilbert Obituary

 

Richard Edward Gilbert, 64, passed away on April 7, 2024, at Hope Hospice in Providence surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Rebecca Gilbert of Attleboro, Massachusetts.  Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late George and Georgia Gilbert of Ellington CT.

Richard was blessed with four children: Matthew Gilbert of Manchester, NH, Jessica Moniga of Smithfield, RI, Melanie Oliveira of Rehoboth, MA, and his Stepdaughter, Amy Kitchen of Cairo, MO. He was survived by Donna Guilbeault of Attleboro, MA, Joyce Lambert of Woonsocket, RI, Ronald Gilbert of Brunswick, ME, Thomas Gilbert of Brunswick, ME, and Cathy Dufour of Vernon, CT.   Richard was also the brother of the late Rosie, Larry, Linda, and Debbie.

Richard enjoyed many activities with his family.  He was involved in fishing derbies, gardening and spending time with his many nieces and nephews who he cherished and loved him very much. He will also be missed by his grandchildren: Olivia, Evelyn, Owen, Ella, Audrey, Brynn, Rowan, Charlotte, Everly, Sadie, Aiden and Hailey. 

As per Richard’s request no funeral or memorial services will be held. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Oak Knoll wildlife sanctuary in Attleboro, MA.
