Richard Amado Obituary

Richard J. Amado, 79, beloved Father and Grandfather, passed away on May 18, 2020. He was born on April 1, 1941, in Providence, RI. He is the son the late Manual and Sophie (Sears) Amado. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Michael.

He is survived by his brothers and sister: Manual Amado, William Amado, Lewis Reynolds, and Cecilia Garedo. He leaves his children Reena Letellier and Richard Amado. Richard had four grandchildren Damian Letellier, Leann Letellier, Katherine Pettis, and Phillip Pettis. He also leaves his adopted grandson, Jaron Foley. He lived with his daughter and four grandchildren in Providence.

Richard was retired. He used to worked as a plater for Rau Fastener in the jewelry district of Providence. He used own a few bars in Providence; the last bar he owned was One More Bar located on Manton Ave in Providence.

Richard loved the Yankees and the Giants. He was the biggest Yankee fan anyone has ever met. He was a huge card player; he loved to play cribbage and Hi-Lo-Jack. He used to play Hi-Lo-Jack at the senior centers in Cranston and Warwick. He loved his family. He always told stories about how life was like when he was younger. Richard always put a smile onto everyone's face. He was the life of the party, telling jokes and trash talking the Red Sox.

Service were held on Saturday, May 23, between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, located at Olson & Parent on 417 Plainfield St, Providence, RI 02909. Due to current restrictions, only 10 people are allowed in at a time. Therefore, we will be rotating visitors into the building accordingly. Please wear a mask, and continue to socially distance during the service. Stay safe.
