On January 13, 2023, Robert W. Swift passed away in Rhode Island due to complications of heart failure.
Robert, better known as Bert, was born in Connecticut on June 16, 1964. He graduated from Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield and the University of Bridgeport. He worked as a graphic artist and designer in the publishing industry for William Raveis Real Estate, Snow Country Magazine, and Road & Track Magazine. For the last several years, he also worked as a freelance art director.
Bert was an accomplished artist and photographer, his true passions. From an early age, Bert loved painting and sketching. That love led him to his dream job at Road & Track Magazine, where he served as their Assistant Art Director for many years. He was an avid car enthusiast and BMW aficionado. He loved to ride motorcycles, riding with clubs both stateside and overseas. He was also an expert on vintage auto racing, and a huge fan of Formula One. As an amputee, he was involved in the research and development of advanced prosthetic devices.
Bert lived life to the fullest, and always had a positive outlook. He will be missed for his joy and enthusiasm for life, his true comical nature, and love for his family and friends. Bert was a champion of life and friend to us all.
