Sally Ann (King) O'Connor Obituary
Sally Ann O'Connor, 80, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025.
Born on December 9, 1944, in Quincy, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred King.
Sally worked for many years as a bookkeeper and, in October 1966, married her sweetheart, Timothy O'Connor. In 1969, they settled in Newburgh, New York, where they raised their daughter and made many lifelong friendships. In 2021, Sally and Tim moved to Norwich, Connecticut, where they made their forever home with their daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters.
As a young woman, Sally was active and adventurous, practicing judo, which reflected her energetic spirit and determination. An avid Mah jongg player, she also cherished her weekly game nights with her dear friends Flo, Becky, and Tanya. Her love of friendship and community inspired her to volunteer with the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. She also enjoyed the excitement of the slot machines, especially during visits to Mohegan Sun.
Sally had a gift for bringing people together and loved cooking for her family and friends. She was especially known for making copious amounts of chicken cacciatore on Sundays, which was Kelli's "favorite"dish, a tradition that filled her home with warmth, laughter, and delicious aromas.
Sally is survived by her devoted husband, Timothy O'Connor; her loving daughter, Kelli O'Connor; her son-in-law, Robert Weirath; and her cherished granddaughters, Teighan and Fionagh Weirath. She is also survived by her brothers, Jack King and his wife Rosalie, and James King and his wife Karen; many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Paul King and his wife Carol; Mary ("Pat") Chase and her husband, Walter; and Margaret ("Peggy") King.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sally's memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1365 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT 06082.
