Scott D. Craven, 73, of Westerly passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Springfield, MA on March 31, 1949 to the late Earl and Eleanor Craven. He was educated in the Springfield school system and enjoyed playing hockey throughout his high school career at Classical High School.

Scott spent all of his summers at his family's summer home in Misquamicut, R.I. and worked as a private beach lifeguard throughout his youth. His love of the ocean and being outdoors led to many enjoyable years of surfing, fishing, and clamming. He especially loved taking his nephews clamming, fishing, and bodysurfing when they were young. Scott was a kindhearted soul who was always willing to help a friend in need.

He is survived by his girlfriend of 35 years, Marjorie Bowen of Westerly, R.I., his sister Bonnie and her husband Don Palmer of Leeds, MA., his nephew Matt Palmer and his wife Shannon and their three sons, Chris, James, and Maddox, and his nephew Ian Palmer and his wife Kate and their two sons, Charlie and Will.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
